Certificate of Competence in Workplace Noise Risk Assessment (CCWNRA)

The accuracy and reliability of any noise assessment is primarily dependent upon the competence of the assessor. In addition, informed and appropriate advice on noise control should only be taken from competent individuals. This IOA Certificate aims to provide a recognised course of education and training to enable persons to carry out workplace noise assessments in a competent manner.

The IOA Certificate of Competence in Workplace Noise is run over five days and the courses are scheduled in line with specified IOA exam dates. The next scheduled Examination Date is 2 March 2012.  The course will be held in Cork on 22, 23, and 29 February and on 1 and 2 March 2012.  (Click here for further details on this Workplace Noise Risk Assessment course).

Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement (CCENM)

This IOA Certificate course addresses the legal and practical aspects of dealing with the problems of environmental noise pollution. The course focuses on the measurement, assessment and control of environmental noise. The next scheduled course will be held in Cork on 9 10, 16, 17 and 18 May 2012.  The Examination Date for the Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement is 18 May  October and there will be a course tutorial and revision that morning. (Click here for further details on this Environmental Noise Measurement course).

Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement (CCENM)

Excessive noise causes widespread problems for many individuals and organizations and noise is recognized as being the cause of increasing numbers of complaints throughout the European Union. Environmental noise has the potential to disturb sleep, significantly impact upon the quality of life and give rise to adverse health effects. In many cases there is a legal imperative to manage environmental noise and a proactive approach to noise management can help to avoid complaints and/or costly litigation.

The course provides participants with up-to-date information and training to meet the demands of all relevant EU and Irish legislation. It is designed to provide a combination of essential acoustic theory along with the necessary `hands on' practical measurement and assessment skills. This is achieved through well-developed, interactive training which includes industrial assessment along with classroom and workshop formats.
